Who am I?
I am an Episcopal priest who has been blessed to be the Rector of St. Alban's Episcopal Church since September 2006.
About My Family
My husband Brian and I have been married for more than 30 wonderful years. He works as an Apple Computer Systems Engineer at Syracuse University. Our children are 25-year-old Russell (married to Shelby) and 20-year-old Christopher.
Favorite Bible Verse
Romans 8:39 – For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Why I'm in Ministry
I received my call from God to ordained ministry at the tender age of 12 and never looked back. It would be three years before women were able to be ordained in The Episcopal Church. After 30 years I remain a parish priest because this is who I am. Celebrating the sacrament each Sunday, preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ, visiting the sick, working alongside parish members at a local food pantry, comforting those who mourn – for me there is nothing more rewarding. Being a priest nourishes my soul and makes my spirit soar.
I was ordained an Episcopal Priest on June 17, 1989 after graduating from Yale Divinity School with a Master of Divinity degree.
About St. Alban's
The people of St. Alban’s strive to live our Mission Statement: St. Alban’s is
A community founded in Christ’s love,
Joyfully seeking to live our faith,
Reaching out to all God’s people.
We are a spiritual people who believe in the power of prayer.
We are servants of Jesus Christ who serve the greater Syracuse area by sending volunteers every Thursday afternoon to a food pantry we have partnered with, making colorful pillow cases for nursing home residents with dementia, volunteering at Meals on Wheels, and collecting items for Refugee Resettlement through InterFaith Works.
We enjoy being together and when we are gathered there is always food!
Fun Fact
I enjoy working New York Times crossword puzzles and am a whiz at the Solebon card game “Eight Off.”
